SCRAPBOOK #December 2023

Our first visitors this month were none other than my one and only son, Mark, and daughter Amanda, accompanied by adventurous Lexii. It seems she’s already eyeing Uncle Mark’s bike – looks like we’ve got a future biker on our hands! Although, for now, let’s make sure she sticks to off-road adventures only. Teaching her how things work there are a few shorts HERE on how she got on!

when lexii visits

When Lexii pays a visit to her little cousin Xane, she just can’t resist playing stylist and giving him a cute little makeover. That hairdo is absolutely adorable! What a cheeky little missy she is!

Sorry future Xane if your all grown up just finding this pic of yourself

Amanda, Lexii, & Kev

They all went ice skating this year, i had enough of that last year a few shorts from the trip can be seen HERE

Looks like Kev the pro had a blast! That guy knows how to have a good time!

snow!!

Hooray we had a snow fall, enough for the kids to play with.

fun bath times ahead

Now, I’m the kind of granny that likes to shake things up every now and then. So, a dull ol’ bathtime routine gets a sprinkle of my magic quite frequently. This is one of those times. The kids want to have a water bomb battle, but I’m not keen on them dragging water all over the place and tossing them outside, especially since they can harm our precious wildlife here in Armley. Gotta keep these shenanigans under control! Don’t worry they had pants on!

Warrens new slippers!!

cow & calf rocks

so what do you do on a sunday afternoon head to one of our own beauty spots of course cow & calf rocks. no sooner had we arrived when the rain started to pour down, typical.

“it’s starting to look a lot like christmas every where we go”

ginger bread house

The saga of the dreaded gingerbread house continues! Here’s hoping for a better outcome this time. Only tried my hand at this once before, and let’s just say it didn’t go according to plan. Fingers crossed for better luck this time!

Well, that went better than expected! Only half of the roof decided to crack in two, but don’t worry, it held up until we finished decorating it. We also managed to squeeze in a couple of crafts. Now, applications for next year’s help are officially open, so please send them to me – I really, really need the HELP!!

the games we played

warren enjoys playing with sensory items, we do try to engage him in other games, but his attention does wander, Pandora loves board games & card games as much as lego and other sensory play.

Warren proudly displaying his impressive bubble beard, giving Santa a run for his money!

A day out

We ventured out into Leeds with a plan!

art gallery, Food, funfair and some shopping.

We encountered Amanda and Lexii just as the free Palestine protest was approaching the Headrow. It was a significant opportunity for the children to witness the freedom to protest. Naturally, we felt compelled to explain the situation to them in a manner they could comprehend, so I entrusted that responsibility to Taarna. If you care to see the protest from our view you can do HERE

Warren wanted to go on some rides Pandora was not so keen.

Next stop, the Art Gallery! Everyone found something that spoke to them, their ultimate favorite. Taarna and I strolled around, creating funny narratives for the people in the pictures. We imagined what they were really thinking or saying, adding our own quirky twist to the art experience.

playtime

i don’t need to say it with words but we stayed here for an extended length of time before going for food.

21st december 2023

As you may know, this day is my Christmas. Every year, the whole family gets together to exchange gifts and eat food. This may be the last time some of these people are together. Sadly, another bit of unease [arguments] have erupted which will make it impossible for them to be in the same space!
But we did have a very good time this year.

christmas day at skye & mike’s

The invitation to dine out on the 25th of December was a first for us. It marked Skye’s inaugural attempt at preparing a Christmas feast for our group. The anticipation of the occasion was palpable as everyone eagerly awaited the outcome of her culinary endeavor.

As I glanced around the room, taking in the beautiful spread of dishes before me, I couldn’t help but marvel at the sheer abundance and attention to detail that went into creating this magnificent feast. Every dish looked tantalizing, and the exquisite presentation was truly a sight to behold. However, as I gazed at the array of culinary delights, a hint of trepidation crossed my mind. How would I even begin to tackle such a veritable mountain of delectable food? Despite my initial uncertainty, I couldn’t contain my excitement to dive in and savor each delectable bite. It was a feast fit for a Queen, and I was determined to revel in every moment of this extraordinary dining experience.

Thanks for inviting us, Skye. I truly enjoyed our day.

That’s it and that’s not all

thanks for looking!!
