most little girls love to play with their dolls, my grandaughter, Pandora, never really took to them.

Pandora had the dolls pram an a few soft and hard bodies babys but never really had much interest in them. currently shes into LOL dolls has flipping loads of them and more recently has enjoyed disembodying dolls and horrifying them with me, at 5 years old she is a fan of wednesday addams.

Anyway her unusual obsession started during lockdown, whilst she couldn’t go to nursery the only other place we went was shopping, thats when her unusual friendship began.

It started with the charity dogs in asda you know the ones you throw your loose change into

Pandora loved the rigid dogs, she’d not had much experience with real dogs so enjoyed being able to hug these without getting her face licked.

She soon moved on to the gnomes, well we were all stuck at home what else was there to do …. gardening… so asda was rife with gardening items and the gnomes, Pandora wanted to take everyone of them home with her she even gave them all their own unique names.

One time she tried to carry one it was funny watching her waddling off with grandad in persuit.

Pandora does still love all her gnomes and the dogs but now a new friendship was blooming even the asda staff were noticing her antics.

She was making new friends giving them all names, asking every day if we could go shopping. Telling us one day her friends were coming home with her that they needed to escape.

Her imagination is so vivid. As she got older and was allowed back to school nothing changed for her she had to go shopping to see her other friends o made us promise to take her with us after school.

This is undeniably going to be a passion of hers, to jail break a mannequin, i cannot tell you the love in this little girls heart the excitement of visiting ” mannequins” we can all feel it and whilst her mother and i shopped she spends the entire time going from one to the other with her grandad.

Now shes at school in reception she misses a lot of shopping trips, so we thought it would be fitting to find her a mannequin to keep at home.

Pandoras 5th birthday was fast approaching, finally i found a lady in manchester selling a few mannequins at a very reasonable price, i was so happy when i finally picked up the mannequin i knew Pandora would love it , it was the best kept secret in a box in the cellar, i couldn’t wait for her birthday.

Pandora and allyana, she was thrilled ….. then there was cake ..

Pandora loves to dress her up and do her make up, lift her off the base and move her around the house.

She still visits her other friend at asda and is a regular 5 year old with real friends so don’t worry .

I can only hope she reads this one day and knows how special a soul she is and how precious she is to everyone who meets her.
