On the 09/09/2017 it was time for the day out in Scarborough……
We set off along the A64 it was an uneventful journey Barr a few dodgy drivers and the violent downpours.
As soon as we got there the sun was shining bright and it was a lovely day, we parked in the Brunswick shopping centre and took a long slow steady walk down the high street towards the beach, we weaved in and out of a few shops, stopped for coffee, which wasn’t that good they must use full fat milk yuk !! remember to check in future……
Finally we got to the beach the lovely golden sands of Scarborough, we bought a few sweets and this stick of rock i currently have stuck in my mouth creme egg flavor.
Then made our way to the Olympia
Its our favorite arcade,spent £10 playing the machines won enough times to keep on playing for over an hour……
After we finished our gambling it was time to head back to the car, we took the cliff lift to the top, i would not have made the walk and lived to tell the story, i love the lift its a mere 90p for a ride & saves my legs……
Now we are deciding where to have dinner…..i remember passing a pub out towards Filey so we set off on a search……

We found this pub The Dotterel, the lunch was gorgeous, we had large Yorkshire pud with turkey breast & chips on the side, and bacon cheese burger.

It doesn’t have a website but the address is : Hunmanby Rd, Reighton, Filey YO14 9RT
I highly recommend this pub the staff are friendly and funny, always nice to have a sense of humor on board, the food was delicious hot and the best I’ve had in a while, they serve a Sunday lunch all week long.
They have some strange items about the pub here are a few:

I checked out the toilets before leaving, they are very clean, but in the stalls the lights were out, now i’m one of those people who talk to themselves so i was stood there saying wheres the light switch, i was searching for it, and saying i’m not off in there its dark and creepy, when the other loo door opened it scared me to death!! and one of the bar staff popped out half laughing and promised to put the light on for me, i told her i was scared of the dark…….hey we have lights……….

Now its time to head back to Scarborough for the Honda Gold-wing light parade.
We really didn’t think this through much, parking is free after 6pm in Scarborough,  we ended up right round north bay so a long walk back to west bay…….argh…..

I found my perch at the roundabout near Luna park, and what a sight it was i took a video but can’t put it on here yet as i need to upgrade…..
They dressed up, had Santa, minions, aliens and much more it was a fantastic sight, i thoroughly enjoyed every minute.
When that was over we headed back to the car, and set off to Oliver’s mount , when we reached the memorial we only just got a parking spot, guess everyone had the same idea to watch the firework display over Scarborough from the cenotaph.

And what a display it was, thank you Scarborough for putting on such a wonderful show for our wedding anniversary.
