Mental health what is it ?
Its something you can’t always see.
Its something we all have, do you look after your physical health ?
Eat healthy get plenty of exercise sleep well YES …..
Your mental health needs input too, how do we maintain our mental health ?
Here are a few things we do to help our mental health, you probably do these things and don’t even know it, unless you have a mental health issues then these steps will be much harder for you…..
Talk through a problem with a friend.
Sharing can relieve pressure we put ourselves under, plus the support of a friend or just their perspective of your problem can be helpful too.
Make a list to help break problems down.
Don’t try to deal with everything at once. Ask yourself – what can wait, what’s important and can anyone else help?
Create time for yourself each day.
Build in some time each day to shut off and do something you enjoy – read a book, watch your favorite TV programme or call a friend.
Try something new.
Doing something different can help you switch off and relax. Give yourself a challenge – try a new activity, learn something new or start a new hobby.
Get creative.
Painting, drawing, photography, craft and writing can be relaxing and calming and can help distract thoughts away from everyday worries and concerns.
Spend time in a green space.
Breathe the fresh air and listen to the birds. Why not visit one of the many parks in your local area ?
Take notice.
Try to focus on the present moment. When doing everyday tasks, ask yourself what can you hear, feel, smell, taste?
Mental health services are changing there is more support out there now than ever before.

Mental health issues have been present in my life for a long time i have family members and friends that struggle even with a diagnosis with ” medication” with the right care, they still struggle daily, and find what we take for granted so very hard to cope with.
Emotions can be difficult to handle, what do we do with them? we accept them and give them back, if you have M.H issues this can be a problem for you, you find it harder to accept that someone can love you and throw it back at them.
With M.H your self talk is is either good or bad it can range from minutes to hours or for days, it can jump from one to the other leaving you confused, scared or highly emotional and irrational.
Its like running a marathon in your head, can you imagine having to deal with that i would be exhausted.
Most people can regulate their mental health quite well but we need to accept those who can’t with a little more compassion than before.
Don’t tell me to take a pill and get over it !!!
Don’t tell me to get on benefits !!!
Hold my hand and walk me in to a distraction. Don’t let me fall.
Blessed Be
