If your a fan of the beach you’ll love Southport  the beach is 22 miles long its the Sefton coastline, depending on where you park the beach is about 2 mile from road to Irish sea.

On a sunny Saturday afternoon at Southport Beach you’ll find groups of people playing rounders, cricket, building fortresses, family’s walking carefree laughing & playing children running with kites & people taking picnics further than you can see.

You park on the beach mostly for free (has been on all my trips) you can walk down to the sea or just find your comfy spot almost anywhere.

I have never seen the tide come in at this location but i’m sure it will at some point.

Just behind the area of beach i was parked on there are a few pleasure parks with rides, all within walking distance, The Plaza is there too a good place for food & maybe a little retail, or go a bit further & you’ll find McDonald.

Along the pier is a land train that will take you to the end where you can visit the penny arcade or the cafe, you can even see Blackpool tower, feeling energetic walk it so long as its not windy it should be a enjoyable walk.

Southport is not like most seaside towns its quite peaceful, even when you can see lots of people about, i feel so relaxed and comfortable here.

You won’t find a plethora of shops at the beach selling candy floss, rock, souvenirs,  & buckets & spades, arcades. NO you will find The Beach ! Maybe 1 icecream van that does rounds in the car park its that big…..

The other great thing about Southport is ” its flat” yes no hills or inclines if like me you have any mobility issues you will find it an easy place to maneuver with plenty of seats along the way.

Town center is huge, but the main street “Lord Street” has many interesting shops and pubs , restaurants, take away.

If you want souvenirs try the side streets that’s where your typical seaside shops can be found, but i warn you there’s not many…..

ROYAL ARCADE

I found this wonderful vintage , new & used , antique style shop it has a few floors and is an absolute gold mine, i could spend all day and all my money in there……

Take a look at what you’ll find in this delightful shop.

There is so much to do and see look here from hiring bicycles to pleasure land.

But i can recommend this location for everyone.
